FormscanBy Michael Graham - RULE THE WORLD can pick up a nice pot. He scored at Grade Two level over hurdles and signed off in that sphere with a sixth place in last year's Grade One World Hurdle won by More Of That. He has run four times over the bigger obstacles and has been runner-up three times. He was also fifth in the Grade One Flogas Novice Steeplechase at Leopardstown, although beaten a long way by Apache Stronghold. He looks the class act in this race and holds a great chance off level weights against his four opponents. Val De Ferbet has only run four times on Irish soil, but took a beginners' chase in Fairyhouse over three miles. He wasn't disgraced in fifth when upped to a Grade Two novice chase in Naas. A bad mistake at the fourth last did him no favours that day. His chance is respected. Big Kern has proven stamina, but might get tapped for toe by the aforementioned pair. Mind you he was runner-up to Azorian in a beginners' chase at Navan and only needs a steeplechasing victory to complete the set, having garnered a point-to-point, bumper and hurdle race. Bishops Road has 10lbs to find with Rule The World on official ratings, but has a fighting chance after finishing fifth in a Grade B novice handicap chase at Naas. He won over fences in Leopardstown and was second at Punchestown so shouldn't be underestimated.
