The going for the opening day of the Cheltenham Festival is officially good to soft, soft in places.

Over an inch of rain last Wednesday left the ground at Prestbury Park soft but a dry period since has helped produce perfect jumping ground for day one of the Festival.

The action gets underway at 1.30 with the Sky Bet Supreme Novices' Hurdle, while the featured Stan James Champion Hurdle is at 3.30.
