Jockey Bryan Cooper was very impressed by the victory of Our Conor in the Grade One Spring Juvenile Hurdle at Leopardstown on Saturday.
The Dessie Hughes-trained four-year-old easily despatched of the previously unbeaten Diakali and shot to the head of the Triumph Hurdle betting.
Despite all his form being in soft ground, Cooper feels a quicker surface could serve him even better at Cheltenham next month.
"We always thought he was quite special and as good as what he showed the other day," Cooper told At The Races.
"Both days he won prior to that he was very impressive and he was even more impressive at Leopardstown.
"He showed that he jumps and he travels and can quicken off a good pace as well, so he looks to have everything you need for a Triumph Hurdle horse.
"We actually always thought he would always be better on better ground so hopefully if it does dry up it shouldn't bother him."
