De Bromhead not worried about Europe´s jumping

Henry De Bromhead has played down concerns over Smurfit Kappa Champion Hurdle favourite Sizing Europe´s jumping.

He was undoubtedly impressive in beating Hardy Eustace and Al Eile in the AIG Europe Champion Hurdle last time but some pointed to a lack of fluency at his obstacles during the race.

However the trainer said: "He looked good that day. People say he jumps a bit high, which I suppose he does but I couldn´t see him losing much ground upsides Hardy and Al Eile, two quick jumpers.

"I started to doubt what I saw because it was a while ago now so I even asked Conor O´Dwyer (Hardy Eustace´s jockey) about it on Sunday.

"He had said to me immediately after the AIG that he had never been as quick on Hardy Eustace and he confirmed that on Sunday - he said it was a serious performance."

Before the AIG, Sizing Europe had beaten Osana in the Greatwood Hurdle at Cheltenham, form which was boosted as that rival won the Boylesports International.

"Osana was very impressive next time when ridden differently on better ground and while they are saying there is rain around, if you look at what the ground usually is, it should suit Osana," De Bromhead told At The Races.

"They are all there to be beaten, it is a Champion Hurdle, but Osana´s form is very solid.

"It´s phenomenal to be involved. It is what I was dreaming of four years ago before Alan and Ann Potts turned up three years ago to buy some nice, young horses.

"It is a dream for me to be in this position less than three years later, it´s fantastic. Alan and Ann have been brilliant for me."
