No champion prep for Osana

Boylesports International winner Osana will head straight for the Champion Hurdle without another run.

David Pipe´s six-year-old was under consideration for a prep run in the Kingwell Hurdle at Wincanton this weekend.

But after discussions with the owner, Thomas Barr, Osana will instead line up in the Smurfit Kappa-sponsored event after a three-month break.

"There´s nothing wrong with the horse, he goes straight to Cheltenham," said Pipe.

"I had said beforehand that the Kingwell was a possibility or he could go straight there (to Cheltenham).

"After chatting with Thomas Barr the plan is to go straight to Cheltenham now.

"We´ve had two runs this season and the owner didn´t want anything to go wrong at Wincanton so we´ll go straight there."

Osana is as low as 4-1 with Ladbrokes and Coral to land the Champion Hurdle on March 11.
