Quevega rout completes Walsh hat-trick

Quevega justified 5/6 favouritism with storming to an effortless ten lengths win in the David Nicholson Mares Hurdle at Cheltenham today, completing a hat-trick of wins in the race.

Willie Mullins' mare gave Ruby Walsh a treble on the day as she cruised around in rear on her seasonal debut and it only looked a case of when her jockey wanted to make his move for glory.

She crept closer coming down the hill and Walsh could afford himself a leisurely look behind him as he came to challenge Sparky May (4-1) on the run to the final obstacle.

He pressed the button and she effortlessly pulled clear on the bridle to score by 10 lengths with a ton in hand.
