Racing Delayed at Cheltenham

The start of the 2.40pm race, The Albert Bartlett Novices Hurdle was delayed by twelve minutes due to an incident on the way to the start.

Jockey Daryl Jacob needed to be treated on the track by medical staff following a collision between his mount Port Melon and a cameraman on the way to the post.

Jacob was later taken to hospital with a leg injury.

The race itself was also full of incident as the two horses at the head of the market both fell, Briars Hill (early on) and King's Palace (when well-beaten at the last flight).

The race resulted in a fourth Cheltenham success for trainer Noel Meade when the Paul Carberry ridden Very Wood stayed on best in the straight for a 33/1 success.

The winning horse is owned by Michael O'Leary's Gigginstown House Stud.
