United Back On Festival Trail

United is on the road to recovery from a recent injury and could yet make the Cheltenham Festival.

Lucy Wadham?s unbeaten mare was a leading fancy for the totesport Trophy on Saturday but she was ruled out of the Newbury feature after pulling a muscle.

As a result of the setback the Smurfit Champion Hurdle is also likely to be off the agenda for United but she may take up the handicap option at the Festival.

Newmarket-based Mrs Wadham said: 'Hopefully she?ll start cantering at the weekend but we are not quite sure where we are going with her because when you have one niggle you tend to get another niggle so we are going to make sure we have her right before we decide.

'I think the Champion Hurdle is looking unlikely now and if she goes to Cheltenham she?s more likely to go for the County Hurdle.'

The five-year-old was last seen when winning the Grade One Champion Four Year Old Hurdle at last year?s Punchestown Festival.
