Voler pleasing Murphy

Colm Murphy reports Voler La Vedette to be making good progress from a setback she suffered earlier this week.

Murphy had been targeting the Toshiba Irish Champion Hurdle with his talented mare, but was forced to rule her out of the Grade 1 event after she pulled a muscle during exercise on Monday morning.

"The physio has been to see her a couple of times and she's delighted with the progress she's made," said Murphy.

"Thankfully it's not as serious as we first thought and we should be able to start riding her out again by the end of next week. I've not had a chance to have a proper look, but I'd imagine she'll go straight to Cheltenham and she will almost certainly go for the mares' race."

"If another suitable race came up between now and then we might have a look, but I'm not too concerned either way. We might just give her a racecourse gallop somewhere."

He added, "It was frustrating to miss the Irish Champion, but the main thing is she's A1 now and there is still plenty to look forward to."
