Zaynar suffered a shock defeat in the Victor Chandler Morebattle Hurdle at Kelso.

Nicky Henderson's charge, Champion Hurdle favourite before the off, was sent off a 1-14 favourite for the two-mile contest but was in trouble as the front-running Quwetwo (12-1) led him to the last.

Barry Geraghty got urgent on his partner halfway down the run-in but the response was limited and he went down by a length.

Bookmaker reaction was swift with both Sky Bet and William Hill pushing Zaynar out to 8/1 for the big race at Cheltenham next month.

Solwhit and Go Native are 10/3 joint-favourites for the Cheltenham feature with Sky Bet.
