Gowran Park Tue, 23rd Apr, 2024 Buttermere Ridge He's a big horse. Dave Hyland bred him and Caren Walsh is involved, she lost her husband a few months ago so it's a great tonic for her. David L'Estrange chose to go and see his horse in Tipperary today. I'm delighted for the three of them because he's taken a lot of time to come to hand, they've been very patient. I was giving him a run to see how he got on because he needed to get out, he's just a lazy bugger at home. It's great to get him started and we might look for a winners' race somewhere. He's a lovely horse and he'll like better ground, he just got away with it there. |
Cork Sat, 30th Mar, 2024 Stag Night I'm full-time with Willie who works me hard but gives me loads of opportunities. I had my first ride for him at Dundalk a few weeks ago and it was a grand start. I'm 16, from Waterford and am with Willie since October. My father Ollie keeps a few horses and has a few for point to points. The horse has bad feet but is a grand honest horse and the young lad was good on him. I think it was vital to take 10lb off to give him a chance in that ground. The young lad works hard, he is a great horse for the apprentices to ride and they all get their chances. |
