I think he is a well-handicapped horse on his previous form. The boys have been patient. We brought him to Ffos Las thinking it was a penalty kick and the jockey (David Probert) that rode him there that day just said to get his wind looked at. We brought him down to Ben Brain and he found a little problem, an entrapment of some sort that he was carrying for a while. It is great that the lads were patient and stuck with him. He was off a low mark today and I don't think it was the greatest of contests. He's in again on Monday (Roscommon). Unless anything is wrong, he will run again. He always worked seriously well at home and never quite got there because obviously there was something stopping him. It is great to see him do that. Maybe the problem never arises at home because he works so well that he is maybe not under pressure until he goes to the track. We got great information off the jockey anyway!

It's a shame none of the owners could make it today and they have been very patient with him. Aubrey McMahon bought him for very small money (2,500gns) but he hurt his back last year and we couldn't get him back in time to run on turf. I didn't think he was a Dundalk horse and the time off has obviously done him good and he has strengthened up. He had some nice runs in the UK and there were some decent horses came out of a Beverley maiden he ran in so I thought he was well handicapped if we could get him back. He has done some amount of work but I did think he would need the run. He (Keane) said he didn't really love the ground as it was sticky for him so normal soft would be better for him. It is great for the lads who were patient and they backed him by the looks of things.
