I suppose he was well-in considering his higher chase mark and he had a lovely run over a trip that was short enough for him in Listowel. We were a little bit worried about the ground being quick for him but in fairness they did a great job watering. I think he’ll improve away on winter ground, up through the ranks in handicaps over both hurdles and fences. They are a great bunch of people that own him, there's a brother-in-law of mine, Anthony Callan, who's not too well at the moment so hopefully that'll give his family a bit of a lift.

He had run well in Navan the last day and he jumped unreal today. He travelled everywhere, we didn’t go a mad gallop and that allowed me to be up with the pace, which suited. Hopefully there might be another day in him now. This is always what I wanted to do, so I’ll keep the head down now. I ride mostly in point-to-points, work for Colin Bowe and school for various other trainers. I had my second point-to-point winner just last Sunday so it has been a good few days. Tom McParland is a legend of racing around here so to train a winner for him in Punchestown is brilliant. Hopefully Tuckmill will stay tipping away and Ronan will have a bit of fun on him until the ground gets too soft.

He is a cracking horse and I suppose it took him a while to find his way, although definitely fences has improved him,. Ethan gets on grand with him, he travelled very keenly today and took it up early but for a horse who hadn't been finishing out his races, he finished out great. The horse is getting more and more followers now that he is running better. The syndicate is from all over the country and I bought him after he was placed in a point-to-point.Ã . I don't think he is in any way ground-dependant and we could switch him back over hurdles as well.

Ethan gave him a great ride but unfortunately his grandad died yesterday, so it will give his family a lift,. He wanted to ride today and this is his first winner for me, which is great. Ethan started off with me as a Flat apprentice, moved home to Waterford and is now back with me for the past couple of weeks. Live To Laugh has been very consistent and is knocking on the door the whole time. I thought his first run over fences was good and he was then unlucky when a horse jumped across him here in January (causing him to fall). I think they will have good fun with him, I don't think he is ground-dependent or anything, so I hope he will win a few races. He is owned by a good bunch of lads from all everywhere and anywhere.
