We have been relying on a lot of these lads this year as we moved into a new yard and didn't buy a lot of young stock. He ran a blinder the last day but just didn't come down the hill on the fast ground, even though he handles fast ground. The ground was perfect today but he still lugged a little. I thought he was beat. He's been a great servant. I can't believe what a day it has been. You'd have to have Galway in the back of your mind and he has a couple of options there. While he's in good form we might keep him going though. I know he's won his maiden hurdle but there is plenty more to come from him over jumps. We've just kept that on the back burner.

The ground is just starting to go against him. Chris had him rolling down the hill and got them on the stretch. He's riding out of his skin at the moment.

.He has improved and this is the first winter that he has done really well and put on a significant amount of condition,. He has sharpened up and while the ground was a complete unknown for him, he seemed to handle it quite well and now has lots of options.

He's obviously learned a lot. The cheek-pieces were a help and Steven gave him a great ride. He's been schooling over hurdles all week and seems a natural at that. He might come back here in a few weeks' time or go for a hurdle. He's always showed a bit. I'm delighted for the owner (Rosha Lyttle) as it's her first horse.

he (Papa's Way) is a big eejit still but will make a lovely dual purpose horse. He'd be suited by a slower surface and will stay further; he'll do both jobs and will mix and match.
