Politeo off mark on Irish debut
French recruit Politeo made a winning debut over timber for Paul Nolan when left to come home clear in the Moycarkey Hurdle. Thu 28th Jan
The light weight helped and he jumped great. He is better on that ground and the stiff fences suited him. He will be kept on the go for the summer and I wouldn't rule out a quick reappearance at Puchestown this week. He is entered in several races later in the week.

That was an ordinary contest and I thought that Mouse's horse (Baily Rock) was the danger until he came out. He jumped great. Davy said he was deadly to jump. He probably wants better ground and I hope the handicapper gives him a chance now.

It's nice to make a winning debut. We'll stick him in a winners race now and see where we go then,. Davy did a great job. He settled and jumped very quick and well. I would have been disappointed if he didn't run well as his work at home has been very good. He's a horse with a bit of a knee action that would suggest he would act on soft ground but that's probably as soft as he has encountered. Hopefully he'll improve.
Paul Nolan
