Berry records quick double
Fran Berry recorded a quick double this afternoon when winning the Flame Of Tara EBF Stakes Listed Race aboard the Eddie Harty trained Corcovada. Sun 13th Sep
We've won this race five times in the last 10 years. Vinnie Roe used to specialise in it. It was a wonderful ride by Pat but the real star of the show is the filly. She is small, barely 15.3 hands but is all heart and courage. It is a joy to train a filly like her.She doesn't know how to quit. We had been thinking about the Ebor but I doubt she will go there. I'm looking at the Park Hill at Doncaster. One mile six furlongs is really her trip. We could have a think about the Irish St Leger but she is more likely to go to the Park Hill. The plan is to keep her in training next year. She enjoys her racing.

This is a lucky race for us. We have won it six times in the last ten years. We have won it four in-a-row now. Profound Beauty and Vinnie Roe won it three times each so she had a hard act to follow. She got a very good ride. She is a very genuine filly who has improved as the years have gone on. She ran an excellent race on her last race [second to Banimpire in the Group 3 Noblesse Stakes at Cork]. I thought that run would be good enough to win today. We'll see where we go. The Park Hill is the logical step. She'll get an entry for the Melbourne Cup. I'm not saying she will go but she will get an entry. She stays well. Groundwise she's adaptable but firm would be best.
D K Weld
She has an awkward head carriage but the conditions suited her here today.
D K Weld
He's an improving horse and we might try and get a bit of black-type with him. He'll make a nice four-year-old,.
D K Weld
She's a big honest filly and stays going,. She'll go for something similar and could go back to Dundalk where she won her maiden.
D K Weld
She did it nicely enough in the end and I thought she was always going to get there,. We'll see how she comes out of this but we could consider the Eyrefield Stakes (Leopardstown November 1st) for her. She's Listed place and we'll try and go one better.
