Wellforth a tonic for Hutchinson
Caroline Hutchinson's family has endured a tough time this year with the loss of her sister Olive Hutchinson in January and the Co Kildare trainer was quick to praise the work of her staff following the win of her Wellforth in the limerickraces.ie Handicap Hurdle at Limerick today. Sun 17th May
He had a super run earlier in the week and luckily enough we're close to home so we were able to get him into the field straight away. He spent yesterday in the field,. I was just hoping he wouldn't be flat. At one stage he looked in trouble but when he pulled him wide he was grand. The owner (Clare Ellam) is from Uttoxeter in England and bought him on the night he won over there. I like to think he'd turn into an English National horse one day. His jumping keeps him in his races.
Paul John Gilligan
It wasn't a great race but it's grand to be winning it. I'm thrilled for Barry (Cash) that is his first winner for us. He had been a massive help to us as our horses have been very sick over the last year and a half. They have been poisoned sick. Barry has been riding work for us and I was more than happy to have him aboard.
Paul John Gilligan
He's a right little horse and unfortunately with all the casualties in the race it helped us. It just looked like his race today and he's been on the go for so long and he just keeps on improving. Hopefully we will pick up something similar for him we might have a look at Listowel.
Ms Caroline Hutchinson
My staff have been brilliant to me following the death of Olive and I would like to thank them so much - I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for them.
Ms Caroline Hutchinson
