Ger Lyons dominated the show at Wexford with a superb treble thanks to the victories of Music Pearl, Solent Ridge and Sixty Eight GunsFri 20th May

Big gamble goes astray
A big gamble on Whatever It Takes (in the McManus colours) in the Black Point Handicap at Wexford this evening failed to materialise, with the plunge horse eventually finishing third to Sixty Eight Guns, completing a treble on the evening for trainer Ger Lyons. Fri 20th May
That was great. Things didn't go to plan for him in Bellewstown where the ground was a bit slow,. He won around here before and we rode him handier today. He stays well. Donal gave him a great ride. He rode a winner for me about a couple of months ago on Tay Lane. He's a nice fella and rides a bit of work for me so it's nice to give him a ride. It's always great to train a winner for that man as without him a lot of us would be out of business.
Niall Madden
He has ability but doesn’t always show it. I was hoping he’d run well, and the handicapper gave him a chance to run in a lower grade. He’s been a good old money-spinner, and will continue to mix it between hurdles and the flat.
Niall Madden
That's great. I gave him a good chance as he ran a cracker the last day in Wexford. It's great to get a winner for JP.
Niall Madden
He ran a cracker in Limerick and he came on a bit for it. We were afraid of the ground today. He won't be going to Galway . we'll stay in our own grade . he's not a Galway type. He lost his way last year . I don't know what happened him but all his runs this year have been good,.
Niall Madden
He did it well and I thought he would go close. We'll do a bit of both with him now (hurdling as well). Hopefully we'll get a bit of a summer. We had no summer last year. He won on good ground at Ballinrobe. He goes on soft but he's not as good on it.
Niall Madden
I'm on a bit of a roll! . He is only a handy horse. He is not a winter horse and he will go for something similar next. He got a good ride and I'm delighted with the way he battled.
Niall Madden
He's tough and keeps at it well. Mark said the ground is on the slow side of good, but he wants if faster. He did well to win and it's nice to have a winner for JP.
T Stack
Wayne gave him a very good ride, and said he could do with the McCoy drive! He'll go jumping eventually, and will run next in another handicap wherever he gets in. That's our first winner on the Flat for JP.
