Bajan´s A Scu Blue

Tom Scudamore has been snapped up by Andy Turnell to partner Blue Bajan in the Anglo Irish Bank Supreme Novices´ Hurdle at Cheltenham.

Scudamore´s appointment ended the Swindon trainer´s search for a jockey as the injured Graham Lee faces a battle to be fit for the Festival and Richard Hughes, who teamed up with the six-year-old in the totesport Trophy, is concentrating on the Flat.

Turnell said: "Hughesy rode him for me at Newbury but I´m told that his father-in-law (Richard Hannon) wasn´t pleased he was riding over hurdles.

"Blue Bajan came out of the race well. It was a very disappointing run but Hughesy thought the horse was a bit quiet.

"It may have been the ground. It was quite tacky and it was a funny old start. Nothing coming from behind got into the race. It just didn´t seem to didn´t suit the hold-up horses.

"I hope he can put up a good performance at Cheltenham."
