Cooldine sidelined with wind problem

Cooldine looks set to miss the rest of the season after suffering a wind problem that has ruled him out of tomorrow's Hennessy Gold Cup at Leopardstown.

The nine-year-old filled the runner-up spot in the prestigious Grade One 12 months ago, and had been as short as 7/2 to go one better this weekend.

But Willie Mullins revealed his charge has suffered a setback and is unable to take his place in the line up.

"An extraordinary thing has happened to Cooldine as his wind has broken, which is quite rare in horses as old as him," said Mullins.

"He worked fine on Wednesday morning and then on Thursday the wind problem was apparent. He's going to have to have a wind operation and, unfortunately, it looks like he's going to miss the rest of the season.

"It's very disappointing, but these things happen."

There are nine runners declared for the "Hennessy" with Cooldine and Pride Of Dulcote missing from last week's ten decs but Glencove Marina has been added to the line-up.

The going is currently soft to heavy, heavy in places.
