Fiveforthree scores on hurdle debut
Fiveforthree got his hurdling career off to a successful start when justifying odds of 8/13 at Fairyhouse this afternoon.
The Willie Mullins-trained grey, a close-up fifth to Cork All Star in the Cheltenham Festival Bumper last year, was making a belated seasonal debut following a rib injury last autumn.
Ruby Walsh oozed confidence aboard the six-year-old gelding who, despite untidy jumps at the final two flights, showed a smart turn of foot to sweep past Wheels Up on the run-in for a comfortable three lengths verdict.
?That was a nice comeback and it looks like he could head to Cheltenham for either the Anglo Irish Bank Supreme Novices Hurdle or the Ballymore Properties Novices Hurdle,? said Mullins.
He added, ?The owners are keen to travel and, if he goes to Cheltenham, will not run again beforehand. I?d imagine he?s the best novice hurdler that I?ve run this season.?
that I´ve run this season.´
