Kauto Considered For Aintree
Kauto Star´s season may not be over after he has competed in the totesport Cheltenham Gold Cup on Friday week.
Paul Nicholls is considering sending the imperious eight-year-old to Aintree if all goes well in the big showdown with stablemate Denman.
The Ditcheat handler told the Racing Post: "I have raised the issue with (owner) Clive Smith and we have agreed that if Kauto Star comes out of the Gold Cup fit and healthy, then there´s no reason why he couldn´t handle another outing.
"In which case we could go on to Aintree with a choice of big-race targets ? the Melling Chase over two and a half miles and the totesport Bowl over three miles, one."
