O'Regan looking forward to Sizing ride

Sizing Europe will be reunited with jockey Denis O'Regan for the first time since April 2007 in Tuesday's Champion Hurdle, when the gelding bids to recapture his old sparkle.

Henry De Bromhead's stable star was virtually pulled up between the final two flights when something went wrong last year, and has failed to win on either of his two starts this season.

O'Regan said: "He obviously picked up an injury or something last year.

"I rode in the Champion Hurdle last year and I could see him going easy coming down the hill and when he pulled up he was lame behind.

"It was so disappointing for Henry and the owners.

"He's missed the Irish Champion Hurdle this year so he's a fresh horse going into the race.

"Binocular seems to be the one everyone has to beat but on his best form he could run a good race, especially with the ground on the soft side, it will definitely help him.

"I had a good record on him a few years ago. I rode him as a novice and won a good race at Punchestown when we beat Big Zeb who is second favourite for the Champion Chase.

"This time last year you would have given your right arm to ride him in the Champion Hurdle. I know him from the past and he is a nice spare ride to pick up," he said.
