Rest Then Festival For Pulse

Finger Onthe Pulse is having a break before being aimed at next month's Cheltenham Festival.

The Tom Taaffe-trained seven-year-old has yet to win over fences but has shown useful form in four starts, notably when runner-up to Glencove Marina at Leopardstown last month.

The Royal & SunAlliance Chase ? for which he is generally available at 33-1 ? and the Jewson Novices' Handicap Chase are the two races he will be considered for.

"He's having a well-earned rest," said owner Conor Clarkson.

"He ran in the Grade Two chase at Limerick over Christmas on very heavy ground and was second, probably fortuitously, but he ran much more to what we think is more his level of form behind Glencove Marina, although we were a good 10 lengths behind.

"We will certainly have a look at Cheltenham. He is entered in the SunAlliance and the Jewson is also a possibility.

"He is a horse for the future," Clarkson told At The Races.
