Salmon Well After Hennessy Victory

Michael Hourigan confirmed Beef Or Salmon to be in rude health after trouncing his rivals to win a second Hennessy Cognac Gold Cup at Leopardstown on Sunday.

The 10-year-old secured his eighth Grade One victory to strengthen his claims at the head of the market for the totesport Cheltenham Gold Cup.

Hourigan expressed his delight at Beef Or Salmon's 12-length success from Hedgehunter and is keeping his fingers crossed the build-up to Cheltenham remains as fluent between now and the big race on March 17.

'He's come out of the race brilliantly and is out in the paddock enjoying himself this morning,' said the County Limerick handler.

'Apart from one mistake (five out), It was a very good jumping performance and it's now all systems go.'
