Sou Fight For Bowen

Peter Bowen is facing a race against time to get Souffleur to the Cheltenham Festival.

The Challow Hurdle winner was found to be coughing after his defeat at Warwick behind Carruthers.

And while he is in steady work at the moment, whether he makes the Festival or not is still up in the air.

"We are just having to wait until he comes right, he's still on the easy list," said Bowen.

"If he comes right he'll go to Cheltenham but if he doesn't he doesn't.

"He can go back to Aintree, he's won twice there already so it wouldn't be the end of the world if he missed Cheltenham.

"He's in everything at Cheltenham, he's got loads of options so we'll see what happens.

"He's ticking over and cantering away but until everything comes back right I don't want to push him, he's only a young horse and there is always next year."

Souffleur is a 20-1 chance for the Ballymore Properties Novices' Hurdle.
