An Accordion Remains Favourite For William Hill Trophy

The Noel Meade trained Afistfullofdollars has been allotted top weight of 11st 12lb for the William Hill Trophy Chase on the opening day of this years Cheltenham festival. However, Meade has already warned punters that he is unlikely to run the recent Attheraces Bobby Jo Chase winner in the festival race.

David Pipe is responsible for 9 of the 84 entries including An Accordion (10st 8lb), who is the sponsors 7-1 favourite for the three mile contest. Pipe?s team also includes Celestial Halo (11st 9lb), Madison Du Berlais (11st 5lb), Joacci (10st 7lb), Milan Deux Mille (10st 4lb), Over The Creek (10st 3lb), Abragante (10st 00lb), Whispered Secret (9st 12lb) and Pauillac (9st 6lb).

Paul Nicholls team is headed by the Beecher Chase winner Mr Pointment (11st 6lb). The Champion trainer is also represented by Le Vofoni (11st 3lb), and Officier De Reserve (10st 5lb).

Joe?s Edge (10st 2lb) and Juveigneur (10st 10lb), who were first and second in last year?s thrilling renewal, are set to do battle in this years William Hill Trophy Chase.

The 2006 winner Dun Doire (10st 2lb) is one of four horses entered by Tony Martin. He has also entered this season?s williamhill.ie Trotown winner Royal Count Star (10st 5lb), Patsy Hall (10st 5lb), and the Paddy Power Chase winner Newbay Prop (9st 13lb). Other notable Irish entries include the Pierse Chase winner Mister Top Notch, and the recent ASpace Cabins Grand National Trial Handicap Chase winner Chelsea Harbour.
