Sam Curling reports Angels Dawn in good form following an unfortunate exit in the QuinnBet Grand National Trial Handicap Chase at Punchestown last month and is hoping she gets a run in the Fulke Walwyn Kim Muir Amateur Jockeys’ Handicap Chase.
The Yeats mare was sent off the well-backed 15/8 favourite at Punchestown, having previously beaten Ballykeel (won since) at Down Royal, and was tracking the leaders when unseating her rider after a mistake at the penultimate fence.
“She will either go for the Kim Muir and if she doesn’t get into that she will go to Uttoxeter for the Midlands National,” said Curling on Racing TV.
The Cashel trainer added: “She’s in great form and if they get a bit of rain over there, she would have a chance.
“It was unfortunate what happened to her last time. She was after jumping real well and she just made a mistake when she seemed to be going well. It was a good bit out so you wouldn’t know.
“She seems to be progressing with each run over fences and a bit of rain would be a big thing for her.”
Angels Dawn is currently 7/1 with both Paddy Power and bet365 for the Kim Muir.
