- Caim could book Cheltenham trip
Caim could book Cheltenham trip
Caim Hill will attempt to book his ticket to the Cheltenham Festival with victory at Thurles on Thursday.
The Philip Fenton-trained six-year-old is unbeaten in three starts over hurdles, most recently dead-heating in a Listed event at Clonmel earlier this month.
An outing in the Grade Two Michael Purcell Memorial Novice Hurdle is next on the gelding's agenda, with Fenton hopeful his charge can continue his winning run.
"Caim Hill is in good form and if he wins and wins well on Thursday, we might look at Cheltenham for him," said Fenton.
"He's in a couple of the novice races but if he is going to go, I would say he will run in the three-mile race (Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle) on the Friday .
"He runs over two and a half miles later in the week so we'll see how he gets on there and make a decision after that."
