Having missed last year's Cheltenham Festival through injury, Jamie Codd is itching to get back in the saddle at Prestbury Park next week.

One of Ireland's leading amateur jockeys, Codd broke his Festival duck with a masterful ride aboard the John Quinn-trained Character Building in the 2009 Kim Muir.

He was back in the winner's enclosure a couple of years later after partnering David Pipe's Junior to win the same race, and looks set to ride for the Pond House trainer again next week.

Codd said: "I missed it last year, so I can't wait to get back there. Hopefully we'll get through the weekend and then I'll look forward to riding there Wednesday, hopefully.

"I definitely ride one of Mr Pipe's in the four-miler (National Hunt Chase), either Buddy Bolero or Goulanes.

"Plans haven't been completely decided yet as I don't think they know which races Goulanes is going to run in.

"I also ride Backstage in the Foxhunter and I'm not sure about the Kim Muir yet, we'll see on that one. I can't wait to get back there."
