- Henderson hoping for Binocular improvement
Henderson hoping for Binocular improvement
Nicky Henderson reckons he still has one or two tricks up his sleeve in order to have Binocular firing on all cylinders in the Smurfit Kappa Champion Hurdle.
Despite winning his trial at Sandown last week, jockey Tony McCoy was not particularly satisfied with the performance of last year's Cheltenham third.
Henderson hopes some improvement can still be found in the coming weeks.
"He's sound as a pound, but we can still do a little fine-tuning," said the trainer.
"We can do some little tweaks here and there in the hope of finding something."
Confirming plans for some of his other horses, Henderson continued: "Zaynar is off to Kelso and Punjabi is going to run at Wincanton.
"Oscar Whisky will have his final run at Ascot next weekend, then hopefully he can follow Bellvano to the Supreme at Cheltenham."
