Tranquil heads straight to Festival

Ryanair Chase fancy Tranquil Sea will head to Cheltenham without another run after yesterday's meeting at Naas was cancelled.

Edward O'Grady's impressive Paddy Power Gold Cup winner was due to take in a Grade 2 event over two miles to complete his preperation for the Festival.

However the weather intervened, leaving O'Grady with no option but to finish his regime with a racecourse gallop.

"Tranquil Sea won't have another run before the Festival now," O'Grady told the Guardian.

"We wouldn't normally run them any closer to the meeting and it's certainly not a help. You can't quantify the impact it might have and we'd hope that it's minimal but it's not a plus."

"I'd say that I'd probably give him a racecourse gallop and it's just something we have to put up with."
