Dundalk Fri, 16th Oct, 2026 Jazzit Jazzit had been running over five and six (furlongs) as I thought he was too weak to get a trip earlier in the year. He's a big, leggy, rakish horse and, over six, his head came back and he looked ungenuine, but I'd say he is very genuine. I'd say he has got stronger, he just needs that trip and to settle into things. He stepped up to seven and Sadhbh (Tormey) rode him in Leopardstown where he missed the kick, but it suited him, as he got into a nice rhythm and finished out very well. James (Ryan) is deadly around here, he's a serious pilot and is strong and very underrated. He doesn't get half of what he should be getting.
Bellewstown Thu, 1st Oct, 2026 Maxwell Smart He was just getting outpaced all year - even there, for a lot of it, he was outpaced. He's just an odd horse, he won't race up into the back of horses but, once he got him out wide, he picked up well. He's a quirky sort of a horse, but definitely the slow ground was a help. We'll go over hurdles with him; we will keep him on the go. He's had a couple of very good runs over hurdles as well, but I just wouldn't run him on too quick a ground over them. He'll tip away up to Christmas, Down Royal and those places. He's a fun horse - a grand, sound horse. The ground would be a big thing to him.
Bellewstown Wed, 30th Sep, 2026 Smoke Them Out He loved that ground. You'd say he shouldn't run well up here but, even on good ground, he had been running well. He would be a bit outpaced and run on from the road home. On that ground, I said, 'jump out to go hard and if anything wants to take it off you, fine'. All his wins have been with plenty of dig in the ground. He's in on Sunday in the Curragh and if the ground is soft, we will probably have to take our chance. He has won twice there.
