Quotes on Jagged Edge (IRE)
We were ready to rock and roll for the Irish Lincoln but unfortunately he scoped poorly the week of the race, so we just had to sit and wait,. It's obviously been a very difficult winter to get these horses right for the spring but every trainer is in the same boat. I just had to take my time with this horse. . He had been showing all the right signals at home and, we felt he was just ready to start. We had to back off him and, we had to load him with antibiotics there for a month so, he was just ready to start. Hopefully now the horse has a bright summer in front of him. . We'll have to see what the handicapper does to him but we might make a Royal Hunt Cup entry tomorrow. Hopefully he'll develop into a stakes horse later in the season.

Quotes on Cristal Clere (IRE)
That's brilliant, I'm delighted. He was a little horse we bought to win a maiden in Belharbour but he went a different direction. We bought a couple of Flat ones to get Seanie (nephew) going. If you want an event pony they cost half a million and we bought him for 15 grand. He's after winning 45 grand now and putting the jockey on the board. Seanie said he was feeling the surface at Dundalk the last day and changing his legs. We didn't know how he'd go on the ground on Sunday, we were just hoping he would. He jumps hurdles and fences, so hopefully he'll rock on. He's a right little horse, we bought him at Newmarket last year at the horses-in-training sale — he hadn't run. When we brought him home we thought we had him for point-to-pointing and we schooled him over fences and all. When we put him up against the rest of the pointers, he was a bit on small side and I said if he wins we still won't get paid for him, so we'll get value for Seanie rather than go that way. These Flat men have it cushy, this fella doesn't do anything. We were off schooling this morning at 7am this morning with a load of horses. You just give this fella a few nuts and a pick of grass and away he goes, it's an easy game. I carried out the saddle for him today and if he rides him over hurdles I'll have to get a wheelbarrow to carry the saddle. Hopefully we'll run him over hurdles, he could be a right little horse for that. He could go to any of those (Flat) handicaps in the summer as well for expe

Quotes on Iron Fist (IRE)
It was a nice performance as he was carrying plenty of weight. He enjoyed the ground and Shane said he won despite not handling the track. We thought an awful lot of him as a two-year-old, but he took a while to do things right although is doing things right now. It was a good performance, is an improving horse, and he really loves that ground.

Quotes on Bay Colony (IRE)
We knew the distance was a bit short for her over a mile at Naas the last day but thought we might get away with it, although the two who finished in front of her are quite smart. Today, she looked as though all she does is stay. Her pedigree has plenty speed in it but when I looked at it properly this morning, the second-dam finished second in a November Handicap. We'll try to get her black-type now although she wouldn't want firm in the going description.

Quotes on Chica Guerrera (IRE)
It is great to see her rewarded. She has been running well in good pots and good handicaps as well. She was always going to do that, win a decent pot and it is great we got it today. The lads (Trouble & Strife Syndicate) came up from Kilkenny. It is great for them and she is a good filly. They enjoy her and knock good craic out of her. Ronan was excellent on her, and he is after twinning the Derby and the Oaks!. We'll see where we go after that, there's plenty of those fillies' handicaps as well too. We will try and keep her to them if we can, see what the handicapper does. She did win well, but she loves that ground. She has won in Gowran Park on soft ground, and she has won on a cut in the ground in Tramore as well. When everything falls right for her, she can be good. She was third in a premier handicap and was placed a good few times, and she is a good, sound filly.

Quotes on Iowa City (FR)
It is a great to give the jockey a winner on his first ride back and the filly is nice. I ran her in May at Killarney on ground which was maybe too quick for her in hindsight and I thought coming here today that she would run very well. I'm not surprised she won but was surprised in the manner she did it, as what she did is hard to do in Galway. I think she's not too bad and will go back into stakes company now.

Quotes on La Tulipe Noire (IRE)
We had no luck with her at the beginning, we did various different things, and then we got Seamie Heffernan to ride her five times and she hit the crossbar a few times,. Seamie would come in and say ‘this one will win a race’. We bought her because Jessica’s father Tony is a friend of mine, and he works for me. We bought her originally because Jessica got her Flat licence but she just wasn’t doing what we’d like so we got Seamie then and in fairness to him he got off her the last time he rode and said this mare will win. Sometimes you don’t believe it, you think this is a jockey telling me a story, but she did turn up for Jessica the last day. He said maybe we should take advantage of the 7lb so we did the last day. Jessica is riding great. I said to her if she could take up the running and slow it down but she said that there were two horses in it that were runaways. She said she’d sit in. She’s still very young and hasn’t a pile of riding done but she was very clever there. She’s very good, she has a lovely feel for horses. I’m surprised she isn’t getting more spins. We only have five horses and they’ve all won. We’ve no serious horses but we do it for ourselves, which is better again.

Quotes on Meriden (GB)
We always knew she was okay but she’s improved with every run. It’s worked out lovely, she’s just stepped up every time. She’s done a lot very quick, it’s massive what she’s done in six or seven weeks. You’d have to look at a Group 3 with her next. She’s beat a good filly there. Chris knows her well and he had said to me that she mightn’t like this place as she can lean left. She’s entered at Ascot next weekend on his recommendation but it might come a bit soon. I just love her attitude; I was riding her out all week thinking that she had sharpened up from the Curragh. I haven’t been dipping her, because she’s running so much you can’t empty her at home. To me just cantering it felt like she had improved. He whole attitude is just so good. It’s the hottest day of the year and there is not an ounce of sweat out of her. She saddled really professional. She just does everything well and had a real good mind. She is exciting to have. She’s a class filly. I have to thank Paul O’Brien and Paul Shanahan for giving her to me.

Quotes on Flower Forest (IRE)
She had a lovely run the first day in Cork, and ran nice enough in Roscommon where the race didn't really work out for her and she was trapped wide, so we thought she was better than that. She's a filly that has shown ability at home and this race worked out lovely for her. Obviously, first box ticked for her, and we will try and get a bit of black-type for her. She might go to the Denny Cordell (Lavarack Stakes, Group 3) at Gowran. I know it is over nine and a half (furlongs) and go from there. If she doesn't get there, on to the Garnet Stakes (Listed Naas). Obviously, it is a stiff mile here, and it would be an easy nine and a half in Gowran.

Quotes on Mixed Feelings (IRE)
She obviously had a good run last year, so you’d hope that she’d come here and be hard to beat, but you don’t see them pull lengths away from the field like that very often. I thought it was an impressive win and she looks like a nice filly. We could jump into a Guineas trial but she did still look a bit green there, so we might look at having another run somewhere before we go into a Group race. We’ll see how she pulls out and then can decide, but she’s a nice filly for the future. She coped with that going, but Joey said she’d be better on better ground. I’d say she’ll be versatile.
