he's come down a lot in the weights but he's never won over further than two and a half miles before today (3m1f). He's been running in Graded races all the time and the drop down in class helped him and it's lovely to see him win. He was actually sold to go point-to-pointing to England but the vet wasn’t happy with him!. he’ll get an entry in the Irish National, and could go next for the Leinster National at Naas - he wants really soft ground. M.P. Walsh, rider of Rogue Trader trained by T.J. Taaffe, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount never travelled. The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Rogue Trader, trained by T.J. Taaffe, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be sore behind post race.

A steeplechase for five yrs old and upwards that, at entry, are rated 150 or less
Weights - 5-y-o 10st 4lb; 6-y-o and up 10st 11lb
Penalties - Performances before 31st January for every 1lb above the rating of 135 1lb extra; On or after 31st January for each steeplechase race won 4lb extra; Horses that have not run two times over steeplechases and/or do not have a published handicap steeplechase rating may enter and run at the discretion of the handicapper provided their performances are rated 150 or less.
