he's not a bad old horse and is the best I have at the minute, although he hasn't much competition!. He's tough and keeps going well but hung a little today and may have been feeling a little something. The Stewards received a report from Mr.P.L.Malone, Turf Club Clerk of the Scales, regarding the fact that D.E. Splaine, rider of Kennedys Mor , weighed in at 1.6 lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that rider was in breach of Rule 231 and they therefore suspended him for one race day. The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined From Frost (GB), trained by Gordon Elliott, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be blowing hard post race. An extended handicap hurdle for four yrs old and upwards (123 = 11st 10lb)
Weights - Top weight in the original handicap shall; not be less than 11st 10lb
Penalties - Winner of a hurdle race after calculation of the handicap to carry 4lb extra for each hurdle race won. Any horse rated above 123 shall initially be treated as having that rating and the highest weight allotted shall be 11st 10lb. Subsequently, the excess over 123 in any rating shall be added to the weight allotted to that horse. (For the purpose of this note, any four year old rated above 123 shall have the applicable weight for age allowance then prevailing deducted from the horse's rating prior to the original calculation of the handicap)
