He’s a horse that obviously broke his maiden here earlier in the year and we then gave him a bit of time to mature and develop,. We brought him back for the Madrid Handicap and he ran a cracker in that. He ran a lovely race in Leopardstown in early summer and backed up a little bit too quickly in Gowran the following week. We decided then to leave him off, he’s a big-framed horse so we said we’d give him time to mature and develop. I think he’ll be a horse for up here during the winter. He’s still lightly raced and hopefully there should be another one in him. I had a very similar horse here last winter, Far From Dandy, who won a couple and was second in the Spring Mile. He mightn’t have the class of him but I’m hoping these three-year-olds can develop from three to four. He’ll be kept lightly raced through the winter months and hopefully he’s a horse that can continue to progress. Stephen Thorne, trainer

The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident in the home straight involving Bishopton, ridden by Nicola Burns, Flame Of Forest, ridden by J.A. Heffernan, and Stars Will Shine, ridden by P.A. Harnett, where it appeared Bishopton had to check off heels causing him to run into the path of Will Shine. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted

J. Kearney, rider of Alissam, trained by Stephen Thorne, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was very keen early

R.M Mulligan, rider of Art Gallery, trained by J.P. Murtagh, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got upset in the stalls and hung left up the straight

A.J. Slattery, rider of Suir Monad, trained by Andrew Slattery, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that he had to check a furlong out

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident inside the final furlong involving Son Of Beauty, ridden by Reese Holohan, Alissam, ridden by J. Kearney, Suir Monad, ridden by A.J. Slattery, and Time Bender, ridden by J.A

Orr, where it appeared interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. J.A. Orr stated that he received a bump from his inside. A.J. Slattery stated that he received pressure from his inside. Reese Holohan stated that a gap appeared and he went through it and he didn't feel contact. However, on reviewing the video footage he accepted there may have been contact with Suir Monad. J. Kearney stated that he kept as straight as possible. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found Reese Holohan was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his record in this regard (third offence), the Raceday Stewards suspended him for eight racedays.
