Clonmel Wed, 16th Sep, 2026  Cornmarket he is well handicapped on the Flat and we said we'd give this distance a go. I fancied him but thought he might be caught for toe, which he was coming down the hill, but he stays well and that won it. I'm based in Killala, Ballina in Mayo and am full-time training horses, although I've only recently recovered from a broken femur last Easter. I was previously a farrier but am getting more into training now, and took over from my dad in 2018, so I'm looking for owners. I grew up with horses, worked for trainers Oliver Brady, Shane Donoghue, David Ryan and Niall Moran and rode a little bit, but the weight got the better of me. It took almost four hours coming here today but it was a special day, as the best part, was the Sam Maguire Cup was at my childrens' school, so my kids Lillian, Sarah and Jamie got to lift it.

Ballinrobe Fri, 11th Sep, 2026  Bell Ex Too I told Paddy to be in the first two or three, but he was a little slowly away from some of his hurdles and the track didn't suit him, he'd prefer a more galloping track. He clipped a heel as well and had to come around them after the last, so it was a good performance, considering all that. He might go for a winners' of one at Punchestown next, it's a race we've won before. Robbie Power did a good job with another horse of mine, Game Point, so I sent this horse up to him to get him off the ground, and he loved him. He jumped economically today, but he'll jump better off a better gallop at a bigger track. He's a fine, strapping horse, probably over 17 hands and with legs like a hunter, and he'll be better on softer ground. I think he can win on the Flat too, maybe over a mile and six (furlongs).

Curragh Sat, 29th Aug, 2026  Loughrea We thought he was very well handicapped at 92. Sure, you don't know until you try. You only think these things, but they don't always work out. I have him in Champions Weekend in the Northfields, but he'll probably come here for the Concorde now. Dropping him back to seven (furlongs) won't be a problem. He'll be rated 100 anyway, so I suppose handicaps are out. It's only his sixth run. His first run in Leopardstown last year, he was as green as grass. I only had him about two months. John was doing him himself at home and sent him on. He just done nothing but improve. He only won by half-a-length at Leopardstown the last day, but he could have won four. It was a comfortable half-length, an easy watch.

Leopardstown Thu, 16th Jul, 2026  Loughrea We held him up today, just to learn a bit. I entered him in the Galway Mile there yesterday and that's where we'll go I'd say. He's learning the whole time. He was a bit green in the Curragh and learned a good bit there. His work has improved since then, and I think he'll improve again. Hopefully he does anyway, it's only his third run. The Galway Mile is a big ask, I suppose, for an inexperienced horse, but he seems to have it.

Fairyhouse Wed, 1st Jul, 2026  Pete's Dream He’s not a bad horse. He had good runs early on but lost his way a bit,. We’ll go for another one now. Down Royal was his first run back and we said he’d come on from that.

Curragh Fri, 26th Jun, 2026  Loughrea He is nice. Sam said he was in front too soon. He said he was pulling up and when the other horse came to him he kind of went on again,. I was putting it that he ran to a rating of 91 in Gowran. It was going to take a fair maiden to beat him today. He probably wants a mile-and-a-quarter as well. . John Houlihan owns him. He is a son-in-law of Pat Tallis who used to train. This horse is from the same family as that good horse they used to have, Acushladear. If anyone comes with money, he'll take it. It's hard for a four-year-old to win giving that much weight away.
