Each-way four-fold Selection One: Sixandahalf Selection Two: The Other Mozzie Selection Three: Win Some Lose Some Selection Four: Protektorat 1.20 Cheltenham - 2m1f (New) Ryanair Mares' Novices' Hurdle (Grade 2) (Class 1) (4yo+) Favourite backers will be hoping Sixandahalf can kick off day three in style on Thursday. This mare was highly talented on the Flat, finishing third in last season’s Irish Cesarewitch and she could hardly have been more impressive on her debut in this sphere when bolting up in a maiden hurdle at Fairyhouse in January. The runner-up from that race has run two big races in defeat subsequently and this mare can only improve for that initial outing. It’s also worth noting that she’ll probably relish conditions a lot more than many of her rivals given what she achieved on good ground on the level. Gavin Cromwell’s runners have been going well here all week and this looks like one of the solid favourites for day three. Selection: Sixandahalf 2.00 Cheltenham - 2m. 4f. 127yds. (New) Jack Richards Novices' Limited Handicap Chase (Grade 2) (Class 1) (5yo+) It could be a very big day for Gavin Cromwell, who is no stranger to success at the Cheltenham Festival, and The Other Mozzie is another one that might be worth considering at rewarding odds. This progressive six-year-old couldn’t have won a Naas Handicap Chase with any more in hand in January, shaping like he would relish this step back up in trip and he’s got form on this sort of ground too. The son of Vadamos is up another 11lb for his latest effort but the British Handicapper hasn’t put any more on top and he looks capable of continuing on his upward trajectory. 2.40 Cheltenham - 3m (New) Pertemps Network Final Handicap Hurdle (Class 1) (5yo+) Win Some Lose Some landed a really competitive handicap hurdle at Leopardstown over Christmas and this JP McManus-owned runner can give another good account with the ground in his favour once again. It’s no surprise that he handles good ground well given that his sire is Champs Elysees and while he has to saddle a 13lb higher mark this time around, he looks typically progressive for his shrewd connections. With big-field handicap form in the book, there’s an argument to say he should be vying for favouritism in this field. Selection: Win Some Lose Some 3.20 Cheltenham - 2m. 4f. 127yds (New) Ryanair Chase (Grade 1) (Class 1) (5yo+) Last year’s winner, Protektorat appears to have been underestimated in the market for the Ryanair. Dan Skelton’s charge has been coming to the boil nicely this season and he beat a decent field with any amount in hand at Windsor last time out in a valuable contest. He should relish a return to this venue and the two ahead of him in the market bring identical ratings into the contest, but he’s been there and done it so he appeals plenty at an each-way sort of price.
