Dead Heat at Clonmel
The feature race of the day The Superhaul Mercedes Listed Novice Hurdle provided a thrilling finish with Philip Fenton's Caim Hill and John Kiely's On The Way Out battling it out all the way to the line. The judge was unable to separate the pair and called it a dead heat.
Fenton said afterwards, "That was a grand result. To be honest I would have been happy wit a good run. We nearly lost him with colic in the Autumn, we'd expect him to improve a lot from that run. He seems to cope with good and slow ground. He's entered in Cheltenham and there's always Punchestown."
