Whether it’s ante-post or day of the race markets, betting is a massive part of the Cheltenham Festival and all the major bookmakers will be vying for your custom. With that in mind, bookies will always try and outdo each other in order to encourage you to bet with them. This creates plenty of opportunities to find some excellent value so here are some of the major outlets who are offering up a good deal or two. There’s so much competition that there’s no excuse for not shopping around for the best prices around.

Sign up offers and new customer deals

All the bookmakers want your custom and one way of encouraging you to open an account with them is providing good sign up offers. Here are some of the best sign up offers around at the moment and with Cheltenham less than a month away, the deals will keep coming.

- Boylesports - Bet €10 Get €60 in Free Bets + €10 Casino Bonus & Up to €60 in Cheltenham Free bets

- Paddy Power - Bet €5, get €30 in free bets

- Betfred - Bet €10, €50 in free bets

- bet365 - €10, get €30 in free bets

All you have to do in order to get these offers is to open a new account with the specified bookmaker by following an offer-specific link or by using a code. Place a bet of the qualifying amount and once settled, the free bets will be credited to your account.

Non-runner no bet (NRNB) options

It’s always good to have options and it’s very useful when bookmakers offer multiple market options, including non-runner no bet.

The security blanket of NRNB is always good although the standard ante-post market will offer better value, provided you are relatively sure the horse will run.

Ladbrokes offer both markets on all of the Festival races, whilst William Hill are NRNB on every race and only offer standard markets on the five biggest races. Betfred are exclusively NRNB on the Festival.

Unibet, Boylesports, Starsports, and AK Bets are amongst the firms who don’t offer NRNB. This does offer the chance for some slightly better prices but a lot can happen between now and the Cheltenham Festival, so there are obvious risks attached.

Extra places and each-way terms

Lots of the major firms are owned by the same companies, which means there sometimes isn’t much variation in price. Ladbrokes and Coral are often good to bet each-way with, whilst bet365 are generally pretty good value.

It’s important to look at the terms and conditions, especially with regards to each-way betting, as extra places are usually on offer in the handicaps at Cheltenham.

Weighing up your options of bigger prices for fewer places as opposed to shorter prices for more places can be tricky but it all comes down to how confident you are about your horse’s chances.
