Formscan By Tom Weekes - BRIGHTERDAYSAHEAD failed to live up to expectations in the Champion Hurdle and reverts to a lesser Grade 1. She routed her rivals at Leopardstown last Christmas and while suited by a fast pace, perhaps leading an on-song State Man and Constitution Hill (who fell early-on) at such speed might have been her undoing in Cheltenham. Admittedly, she was also beaten by Golden Ace at the 2024 Cheltenham festival but, last March, was hampered while tiring after the final hurdle - which exaggerated her loss. Jade De Grugy finished 2.25 lengths behind the selection in that aforementioned 2024 Cheltenham race and lacks some of the selection’s ability. July Flower ran satisfactorily at Cheltenham while Gala Marceau ran nicely at Fairyhouse.
