Formscan By John O'Riordan - A winner of his last two starts over hurdles, CALM FLIGHT AHEAD(1) can get his chasing career off to the perfect start. A lightly-raced Wings Of Eagles gelding, the Philip Rothwell-trained five-year-old makes the switch to fences relatively early on. Connections clearly feel that his future lies over the larger obstacles and he gets the chance to prove that here. Rattledelatch sets a decent standard on the form of his opening two runs over fences. Runner-up at this track in August, the John Queally-trained gelding again shaped with promise when fourth at Listowel last month. Third on his fencing debut at Downpatrick recently, Doctor Confusion is also of interest for the Henry de Bromhead stable.

A steeplechase for four years old and upwards that have not won a steeplechase and that at entry are rated 100 or less over hurdles

Kimy had the cheekpieces on today but I don't know whether they made the difference as she was coming along well. She had a lot of weight in Ballinrobe the last day and that was a good run. She never scopes clean, that's her problem but had nicer ground today and I knew she was getting better. She only needed to improve a little bit to win this race. Everything went sweet for Danny, there was no problems. She'll go to the Lartigue at Listowel but will be out of the handicap if Nurburgring (Galway Hurdle winner) runs.
