Gowran Park Fri, 2nd Oct, 2026  At The Wings He was plenty keen early, so I thought there was no point in fighting him for two-and-a-half miles. He went to the front and parked the bus himself, he pricked his ears and jumped away and when they came to him he quickened. He switched off better the last day as we went more of a gallop. Today, we hacked away in front and he was just a bit in my hands after the false starts. He did it nicely. Norman is in hospital after a fall, but he'll be okay. It's great for the yard to get that winner.

Downpatrick Fri, 18th Sep, 2026  Calm Flight Ahead Blinkers worked and he won well the last day at Sligo,. He got a big penalty and he has backed it up - good ride. For sale now. He'll be a nice horse over fences, but the owners (Phidelma Elvin and Donal Keane) are keen to sell and keep moving.

Wexford Fri, 28th Aug, 2026  Cool Summer She had nice bumper runs and ran well in a maiden hurdle in Roscommon, but she didn’t go on the ground after that. She got a nice mark and we brought her back for nice ground. She had a lovely run in Roscommon. The owner Tim Kelly is from Ballinrobe and she was unlucky not to win there a few weeks ago, Sean Flanagan gave her a lovely ride but it just didn’t go for him on the day. Today it worked out great. The owner is away on business so he’s not here. It was a job well done today and I’m delighted to get her head in front. We’ll see what the handicapper does and look for something similar again. If the ground changes, she’ll be put away until next season as she wants good ground. She’s a summer mare.

Ballinrobe Mon, 24th Aug, 2026  Colliers Quay he had a lovely run in Galway where for a horse that had a lot of racing done, he was quite green. He sharpened up for that and travelled better today. For a big horse, he did well to squeeze through that narrow gap.

Sligo Wed, 19th Aug, 2026  Midnight Eagle It was all going smoothly until after two out!. Darragh said he felt the saddle give a wobble before two out, and then when he went for her, it started to slip, so he kicked his feet out as he felt that was his best chance. She's a very narrow, light filly, and Darragh was doing light as well, so she had a small saddle, but at least that meant the breastplate stuck to her good and tight. She's been creeping up the handicap. Even the day we claimed her, she ran too well and got 7lb, and she got another 4lb for finishing second in Killarney. Things will be getting harder for her after this, but she's very game and if we can keep the saddle straight on her, she might win another!

Downpatrick Sun, 9th Aug, 2026  Malbay Madness I was a little bit disappointed in Bellewstown (eighth) because he was a bit keen. I was glad Paddy went on with him there at halfway because if he gets to relax, he finishes out the trip, obviously, like any horse. Paddy said they were going slow at halfway, so he just decided to go on and inject a bit of pace. He knew he would stay well up the hill, so it worked out well. It was a good run in Bellewstown and obviously the race did work out very well (winner Putapouninthejar followed up in the Galway Hurdle). He does it like here and his other wins were in Kilbeggan - something similar, righthanded. We'll see what is there next for him. We'll see what the handicapper does and freshen him up.

Downpatrick Sun, 14th Jun, 2026  Malbay Madness Paddy said to me that he seems to be improving with every run. He was keen today, but finished out the race well. That's what we thought (go well at another undulating track as his previous wins were in Kilbeggan) - as Paddy said to me there, he travelled well and felt stronger than the last day he rode him. Obviously, he is improving too. He's moving up (in the weights) and we will see what the man (handicapper) does tomorrow, but I thought coming here he was in good nick. Find good ground and an undulating track and go from there. They are all running well and they all seem to like nice ground. We have been waiting on a bit of nice ground, so it has been working well for us.
