Ballinrobe Mon, 24th Aug, 2026  Colliers Quay he had a lovely run in Galway where for a horse that had a lot of racing done, he was quite green. He sharpened up for that and travelled better today. For a big horse, he did well to squeeze through that narrow gap.

Sligo Wed, 19th Aug, 2026  Midnight Eagle It was all going smoothly until after two out!. Darragh said he felt the saddle give a wobble before two out, and then when he went for her, it started to slip, so he kicked his feet out as he felt that was his best chance. She's a very narrow, light filly, and Darragh was doing light as well, so she had a small saddle, but at least that meant the breastplate stuck to her good and tight. She's been creeping up the handicap. Even the day we claimed her, she ran too well and got 7lb, and she got another 4lb for finishing second in Killarney. Things will be getting harder for her after this, but she's very game and if we can keep the saddle straight on her, she might win another!

Downpatrick Sun, 9th Aug, 2026  Malbay Madness I was a little bit disappointed in Bellewstown (eighth) because he was a bit keen. I was glad Paddy went on with him there at halfway because if he gets to relax, he finishes out the trip, obviously, like any horse. Paddy said they were going slow at halfway, so he just decided to go on and inject a bit of pace. He knew he would stay well up the hill, so it worked out well. It was a good run in Bellewstown and obviously the race did work out very well (winner Putapouninthejar followed up in the Galway Hurdle). He does it like here and his other wins were in Kilbeggan - something similar, righthanded. We'll see what is there next for him. We'll see what the handicapper does and freshen him up.

Downpatrick Sun, 14th Jun, 2026  Malbay Madness Paddy said to me that he seems to be improving with every run. He was keen today, but finished out the race well. That's what we thought (go well at another undulating track as his previous wins were in Kilbeggan) - as Paddy said to me there, he travelled well and felt stronger than the last day he rode him. Obviously, he is improving too. He's moving up (in the weights) and we will see what the man (handicapper) does tomorrow, but I thought coming here he was in good nick. Find good ground and an undulating track and go from there. They are all running well and they all seem to like nice ground. We have been waiting on a bit of nice ground, so it has been working well for us.

Kilbeggan Fri, 15th May, 2026  Malbay Madness He had a good run the last day and improved from it,. Paddy said he crept into it quietly. He missed the third-last, but he said he grabbed a hold of it again and away with him. I’m delighted for Paddy as well, as he got a bad injury last year in America and missed four months. It’s great to get him started again, as he’s with me a good while. I’ve a lot of summer horses and they seem to like top of the ground, long may it last. This fella likes here for some reason, he’s after winning three here now. We’ll have to keep bringing him back here.

Limerick Thu, 16th Apr, 2026  Fly Away Home She had been ultra-consistent and that's her level. It is great to get it as she was being rewarded for her consistency. The ground and trip suited, and everything was right. She was super fit and had plenty runs. A share of the syndicate were involved in a good horse with me, Cloudy Bays, years ago and while they left me for a few years, they're back again. She wants soft ground so I don't know if she will run again, but to get the win was the main thing. I bred her and had her grandam Barnearrig Lass, who was nearly my first runner (in 1994). She got a 'leg', but afterwards I bred off her as the Pollerton mares were supposed to be good to breed from.
