The whole plan was obviously to go back chasing with him and the plan now is to go to the Troytown. I didn't want to run him in today's earlier chase as if he won he'd have risked picking up a penalty, so I said we might as well have a run over hurdles where he is rated 15lb lower. He had a setback after his last run and when I got him back later in the season, it was too late to run. He has grown up, matured and grown a lot stronger as he had been a big shell of a horse. His owner Philip Polly is in Dubai so hopefully he is watching on TV.

The Raceday Stewards interviewed Kevin A Murphy, rider of Artic Lane, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted he was in breach of the Whip Regulation. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that Kevin A Murphy was in breach of R.10.3(g)(frequency) and having considered his clean record in this regard, they suspended him for two racedays
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Paul Collins, trained by Brian M. McMahon, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal
P.T. Smithers, rider of Fighting Fit (GB), trained by J.P.Dempsey, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his saddle slipped.
An extended handicap hurdle for four years old and upwards (140 = 11st 12lbs)
Penalties - Winner of a hurdle race after calculation of the handicap shall carry 7lb extra for each hurdle race won.
