The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident leaving the back straight involving Cinammon Roll (FR), ridden by P. Cleary, placed second, Rauzan, ridden by P.J. Cody, unplaced, Savante, ridden by C. Stone-Walsh, unplaced, and Tackletommywoowoo, ridden by K.C. Sexton, placed sixth, where it appeared horses got tight. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. P. Cleary stated that he was going backwards when he took a pull and received pressure from his outside. P.J. Cody stated that his horse leaned left quickly when the horse in front goes forward
C. Stone-Walsh stated that things got a bit tight at the bend. K.C. Sexton stated that there was general bunching as there wasn't a lot of fresh ground and he got tight from both sides. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found P.J. Cody in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his clean record in this regard the Raceday Stewards suspended him for two race days
Calum Hogan, rider of Bitofajokelike, trained by E. McNamara, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount sustained an injury close to the line. Having reviewed the incident the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
An extended handicap hurdle for four years old and upwards (130 = 11st 12lbs)
Penalties - Winner of a hurdle race after calculation of the handicap shall carry 7lb extra for each hurdle race won.
