P. Townend, rider of Adamantly Chosen, trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount stopped quickly
S.W. Flanagan, rider of Law Ella, trained by Gavin Cromwell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled
C. Stone-Walsh, rider of Tyre Kicker (FR), trained by Gavin Cromwell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got tight for room at the last
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident on the approach to the last involving James Du Berlais (FR), ridden by J.J. Slevin, placed fifth, Monbeg Park, ridden by T. Power Roche, placed first, and Tyre Kicker (FR), ridden by C. Stone-Walsh, placed second, where it appeared Tyre Kicker ran short of room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. J. J. Slevin stated that his race was run and he suffered no interference. T. Power Roche stated that his mount had a look at the stands but felt he was clear inside the wings. C. Stone Walsh stated that he was coming with what he felt was a winning run when the horse on his outside kept coming across him despite his shouts and he nearly came down as a consequence and lost all momentum. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found T. Power Roche, was in breach of Rule 214, in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his record in this regard (second offence) the Raceday Stewards suspended T. Power Roche for four racedays
B. Hayes, rider of Ha D'or (FR), trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was pulled up injured.
An extended handicap steeplechase for five years old and upwards that at entry have run at least three times in steeplechases
Penalties - Winner of a steeplechase or steeplechases after calculation of the handicap shall carry any penalty or penalties which may be allotted by the Handicapper.
