Mr (Austin) Trappe never has more than one horse. He’s with me 25 years and they’ve all won a race somewhere along the line, this might prove to be the best one,. He’s a tough horse, he’s form that Carrigeen family and they stay. He seems to like that ground. At one stage I was thinking we might let him off but they wouldn’t be running on faster than that during the summer so we’ll keep him out for a while. I have three or four to run. Three In A Row ran well at Limerick on Tuesday. As Edward O’Grady said ‘any winner is like a shot in the arm to a drug addict’.

P. Hanlon, rider of Topgun Simmy, trained by John Joseph Hanlon, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount did not get a clear run turning into the home straight. The Raceday Stewards reviewed the video footage and were satisfied no further action was warranted
E. Walsh, rider of West Is Awake, trained by Edward Cawley, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount lost its action and pulled up
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined West Is Awake, trained by Edward Cawley, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to have struck into his left fore fetlock and pastern
The Raceday Stewards received a report from Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Starter, Mr. J.R. Banahan, that T. Joseph Kelly, rider of Brave Adam broke into a canter before the flag was dropped causing a false start
Evidence was heard from the starter and rider concerned. T. Joseph Kelly stated that his mount can be headstrong and broke into a canter despite his best efforts. Having viewed the recording of the incident and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found T. Joseph Kelly in breach of Rule 208(iii)(b) and in considering his clean record, they suspended him for one raceday
