The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident inside the final furlong involving Peace Pebble, ridden by W.J

Lee, Teofil, ridden by L.T. McAteer, and Possum, ridden by S. Foley where it appeared Possum and Peace Pebble bumped a couple of times. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. W.J. Lee stated that he challenged to the left of Possum and that filly became unbalanced and rolled into him. S. Foley stated that his filly was a little intimidated close to the line forcing him to take a precautionary check. L.T. McAteer stated that his mount had rolled left in the closing stages but felt he was always clear. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found S. Foley, was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his record in this regard (fourth offence) the Raceday Stewards suspended him for twelve racedays
