We’ve had two runners (so far) at the festival and we’ve had a winner and a second so we couldn’t be any happier.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into the apparent improvement in form of Carla's Pet, trained by Eoin Christopher McCarthy, placed first, compared with its recent form. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned who stated that he had done all the work with this horse initially and was disappointed to lose her to another trainer. She had a good run at Listowel but didn't handle Kilbeggan before going to another trainer. He had her back two months and felt her jumping had improved in that time. Evidence was also heard from IHRB Handicapper who outlined her previous form and said this run represented a big improvement. Having considered the matter the Raceday Stewards noted the explanation offered
G. Brouder, rider of Kir Royal Blou (FR), trained by W.J. Burke, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got impeded at the start
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident at the start involving Dunany Point, ridden by Kieren Buckley, placed third, Diamond Approach, ridden by John Shinnick, unplaced, Carla's Pet, ridden by G.B. Noonan, placed first, and Kir Royal Blou (FR), ridden by G. Brouder, unplaced where it appeared horses got tight for room on the outer. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. K. Buckley stated that his horse started bucking on the outer and continued to buck to the first hurdle. J. Shinnick stated that the horse on his outer was bucking and shifted in
G.B. Noonan stated that he was not interfered with at all. G. Brouder stated that the horse on his outer shifted in and his horse stumbled. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards did not apportion blame to any rider and took no further action
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Raceday Stewards that Met Office trained by Eoin Doyle was found to have blood at both nostrils post race.
An extended handicap hurdle for four years old and upwards rated 0-100
Penalties - Winner of a hurdle race after calculation of the handicap shall carry 7lb extra for each hurdle race won.
